Jane Temple – Media Training

An Emmy-winning broadcast producer and 5′ 2″ post-production powerhouse, Jane Temple was inducted in the Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame in 2008 as the consummate example of all things broadcasting. Jane began her career in radio as a disc jockey and news reporter and migrated to television to WEWS-TV 5 in 1974 as an associate producer with the legendary local morning talk show, The Morning Exchange.

Known for her trademark unbridled energy and inventive ideas, she rose from Associate Producer to Executive Producer and helped lead The Morning Exchange to becoming an Emmy winning, nationally known and pacesetting morning talk show program. Temple also produced The Afternoon Exchange and created The Fairfield Exchange for Cablevision of Connecticut, staying with Scripps Howards Broadcasting for thirteen years.

During a hiatus from fulltime work, Jane freelanced on national television production projects for clients including A&E Network, America’s Most Wanted, and Entertainment Tonight. She produced an educational video that won a “Best of Fest” award from the Ohio Independent Film Festival, and volunteered for Therapeutic Riding, the Cleveland Junior League and Mt Sinai Hospital. She also handled projects for several organizations including the Museum of Contemporary Art (Cleveland), and the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Jane next joined EDR/Beachwood Studios as Broadcast Producer and was part of the team that attracted national production to the facility. She supervised and produced cable television programs including 9 seasons of Room By Room for HGTV and 2 seasons of Ready as He/She Grows for DIY-TV. At EDR she also wrote, produced or edited hundreds of corporate, informational and point-of-purchase videos.

In 2007 she assumed responsibility as Promotion and Continuity Director for WVIZ/PBS & 90.3 WCPN/NPR) the joint licensee in Cleveland, where she was responsible for the full range of communications from public relations to marketing.
A native New Englander and graduate of Wheaton College (MA), Jane is a member of Leadership Cleveland (Class of 1981).
